REEL Stories Project

REEL Stories:Reel Stories is a work-study program that trains young adults in the art and techniques of video documentary filmmaking. The program is specifically designed to support participants of ALSO’s CeaseFire Logan Square and Humboldt Park program. Sessions run throughout the school year and during the summer. Reel Stories is implemented in partnership with Voice of the City – a local arts organization that makes and teaches art. At the end of the session students who have participated in Reel Stories will have: 1. Gained expertise in video production, 2. Worked in partnership with other young adults from throughout the community, 3. Been empowered to tell their own stories, their own way, and 4. Reached audiences who would otherwise not hear their stories through internet, radio, and other media outlets. Reel Stories is a partnership between ALSO and Voice of the City and funded, in part, by After School Matters. |
